ABSTRACT
Ovarian cancer is often diagnosed late with poor prognosis. Current and emerging research is focused on proteomics-based development of robust tests for screening the general population and standardization of treatment including hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy. Progress, limitations and challenges in identifying high-risk women for development of ovarian cancer and multidisciplinary treatment are discussed.
