THE BEGINNING
|
The
idea for the development of this Website was based on the need
and right of all interested individuals (medical professionals,
researchers) to ON-LINE, FREE access to high-quality (science-based,
accurate) medical information. This site was created in March
2002 by Dr. Dimitrios Roukos at Ioannina University Medical School.

OBJECTIVES
|
To
save time for medical professionals and researchers, GBC provides
secondary-research concise full-text articles in all areas of
breast cancer and gastric cancer. We screen high-impact Journals,
including NEJM, CA-Cancer J Clin, JNCI, Lancet, Gastroenterology
…, Nature group, Science,…, and provide sharp, concise,
critical comments on the latest most relevant developments in
breast cancer and gastric cancer including H. pylori.
Special emphasis is given on:
- Causation-based
(chemo) prevention
- Tumor
stage-oriented treatment, from minimally invasive
techniques to aggressive multi-modality anticancer therapeutics.
Publication will be available on the World Wide Web.

MISSION |
GBC's
mission, as a non-profit International Greek Organization,
is to provide free access to information about
best practices in breast cancer and gastric cancer prevention,
early detection, and multidisciplinary treatment in an effort
to support the goals of reducing cancer incidence and mortality
rates and improving quality of life for people living with these
cancer types. The site also serves as a vehicle for continuing
professional education.
