Despite advances in multimodal treatment of breast cancer, survival and oncological outcome of women with advanced breast cancer still remain poor. Prevention is the best approach but how to identify high-risk individual woman? BRCA mutation testing in selected asymptomatic women has established as a reliable diagnostic and predictive test. But how to select the optimal intervention between surgical and non-surgical prophylaxis considering breast and ovarian cancer risk and quality of life?
