Advances and limitations with multimodal treatment of Colorectal cancer liver metastases.

Although surgery resulting in complete resection of liver metastases (R0) from primary colorectal cancer has been the standard of care, timing of systemic chemotherapy (before or after surgery) and targeted therapy with cetuximab or panitumumab remains challenging. The recent advances with minimally invasive resection of colorectal cancer liver metastases and systemic treatment are discussed.
